Lawrence Memorial District Library

Past events

As we begin a new chapter as Lawrence Memorial District Library; we would like to bear homage to our rural community and it’s storied past. The current library building was the acclaimed (first rural-free delivery) Post Office, constructed from the stones of local farmsteads. As is the monument to that rural free delivery, in our adjoining park. Considering this tradition; we would like to edge the new library sign (and flowerbeds) with a border of donated stones. Stones of 6-8 inches in size would be appreciated. Each donation will be recorded/documented for posterity.. Go down in history, bring your rocks to the library.
